What A Gardener Does Here
A regular visit keeps the whole yard in shape. We mow and edge the lawn, shape hedges, pull weeds from beds and cracks, freshen mulch where it has thinned and clear everything we cut. We also look over the sprinklers, because a broken head on a three day schedule can kill a bed in a single hot week.
Gardener Or Mow And Blow
A mow and blow crew cuts the grass and leaves. That is fine if grass is all you have. Once a yard has beds, roses, fruit trees or a low water garden, someone has to know what each plant wants and when to leave it alone. Most low water plants get ruined by shearing them into balls on a schedule, so we prune them by the plant and not by the calendar.
Your Soil Changes The Work
A garden on the Peninsula deals with sand and salt wind. A garden in Los Cerritos sits on heavy clay that holds water and then cracks. Beds in Belmont Shore may be on dredged fill. The feeding, the watering and even the plants that survive are different on each, which is why your neighborhood page matters more than a generic plan.
What Changes The Price
Yard size, how often we come, how much hedge and bed work there is, how easy the gates are and how much green waste has to leave the property. Send a photo or two by text and we can tell you what a regular visit would look like.
Questions We Hear
How often should a gardener come?
Weekly in the warm months suits most lawns with beds. Yards without a lawn can often go every other week or monthly.
Do you take over a yard another gardener was doing?
Yes. We walk it first and tell you what we would change, including any watering or pruning that has been hurting it.
Will you take care of a drought tolerant yard?
Yes. Those yards need less, but they do need the right pruning, weeding and a check on the drip lines.
