Drought Tolerant Landscaping In Long Beach

Drought tolerant landscaping in Long Beach can earn $3.00 a square foot from Lawn to Garden, as long as your lawn is still alive when your design is approved.

  • $3.00 per sq ft rebate
  • Up to 5,000 sq ft
  • 65% plant coverage needed
  • Get approved before you start

Do Not Kill Your Lawn Yet

This is the mistake that costs people the rebate. The program terms say not to kill your lawn until your design is approved. The incentive is meant for living turf, so a lawn that is already dead or fake can lose out.

What The Design Needs

Plants must cover at least 65 percent of the new area, at least 10 percent of them California natives. You need a storm water feature or a compost and mulch mix, efficient irrigation and at least 3 inches of mulch on open ground. Turf looking grasses are out, along with fake turf and concrete patios.
